Sunday 16th March - Feather Feeders
Our feathered friends need all the help they can get in the Winter and into spring. Come with the ranger on this family event and make some much needed bird feeders to keep our winged friends happy and healthy. Take the feeders home and see which birds come to your feeder for dinner.
Sunday 23rd March - Discovering Nature
From worms and shrews to squirrels and roe deer. In this family event, you explore the woods and moors of our wonderful country park and see who in the animal world lives here. The ranger will help you identify all the amazing things you'll find along the way.
Sunday 30th March - Mini Shelters and Homes for Gnomes
It’s cold outside. Our small creatures need all the help they can get. Come into the woods on this family event and make a cosy home for them out of natural materials. Oh and gnomes need homes too. They are very grateful.
Sunday 6th April - Forest Art
Children will build their creativity in the woods, creating natural art pictures!
Sunday 13th April - Orienteering
On this family event, find your way around our lovely park with a map and compass, finding clues along the way to solve a conundrum. No experience necessary and all instruction will be given by the ranger.
Sunday 27th April - Bird Feeders
Our feathered friends are raising their chicks and need all the help they can get. Come and make feeders with much needed birdy goodness to feed the next generation!
Sunday 4th May - Discovering Nature
Come along to this family session with our ranger to explore Mugdock’s wild places and discover some of the amazing wild creatures that call Mugdock their home. We'll look for minibeasts, small mammals and signs of our larger residents such as deer.
Sunday 11th May - Mini Shelters
Our wild creatures need all the help they can get to find somewhere to stay. Encourage them to stay at Mugdock by building homes for them.
Sunday 18th May - Hapa Zome
Use flowers, leaves and other vegetation to make natural prints using the ancient Japanese technique of print making called Hapa Zome.
Sunday 25th May - Whittling
Try your hand at whittling. The old skill of making things from sticks using just a small knife. You’ll be amazed at what you can create. All tools and instructions are provided and you will take home whatever you make.
Sunday 1st June - Forest Art
The woods are full of wonderful resources. Come along with the ranger on this family event and use your imagination to create pieces of ground art, using just what we find along the way.

Sunday 15th June - Bows & Arrows
Come with the family and make a bow and arrows from wood found in our wild places. Then try a bit of target practice and see how good you are, before taking it home with you.

A ticket is required for every attendee, under 2 years go free.
No dogs except guide dogs.
